Kellie is a Seattle-based health and science writer. She is a frequent contributor to USC's Center for Health Journalism where she completed a health journalism fellowship. She also writes about children's health for Parent Map.
Kellie covers health inequities, health policy, public health, and children's health. She enjoys telling the human stories that bring health policy and science stories to life. Kellie's freelance work has been published in the Johns Hopkins Public Health Magazine, GeekWire, The California Health Report, CNN Travel, The Economist's Business China, the China Economic Review, The Wall Street Journal, World Hum and Afar Magazine. She was a section editor on the health disparities issue of The Science Writer. Previously, Kellie has worked as a staff writer at The Mercury News, The Recorder, and The Bakersfield Californian. Her reporting has won awards from The Associated Press, The California News Publishers Association, and the Association of Health Care Journalists among others. Kellie earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Richmond and completed a master's degree in science writing through Johns Hopkins University. |
